What do the colors mean?
-
Orange - High Acidity
This may indicate metabolic acidosis or kidney tubular acidosis. Calcium oxalate crystals may also be present. While acidic urine does not necessarily mean these crystals are present, it creates an ideal environment for them to form. - Yellow/Olive - Within the Typical Range
- Dark Green/Blue - High Alkalinity
This may indicate urinary tract infections. Highly alkaline urine can increase the risk of struvite crystal or stone formation.
