Everyone who shows interest in working at Petland usually shares one important trait: a genuine love for animals. That passion is essential, because if you don’t truly enjoy being around animals, this probably isn’t the right environment for you. However, it’s important to understand that caring for animals in a retail setting is very different from having one or two pets at home. In a store, you’re responsible for the well-being of many animals at once, each with their own needs, routines, and care requirements.
This means the job involves a significant amount of responsibility and hands-on work every single day. Cleaning is a major part of the role, and it’s something everyone on the team participates in regularly. Maintaining a healthy and safe environment for the animals requires constant attention, which includes handling and cleaning up waste. While it may not be the most glamorous aspect of the job, it is a natural and unavoidable part of working with animals. In the end, it’s all part of ensuring the animals are properly cared for and comfortable, which is the top priority.
