At Petland Canada, our purpose has always been simple: matching the right pet with the right guest and meeting the needs of both.

Our story began in 1975 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where a family-owned, 100% Canadian owned and operated business was built on a deep love for animals and a commitment to responsible pet care. What started as a local passion has grown into one of Canada’s most trusted names in the retail pet industry. In 2025, we proudly celebrated our 50th anniversary, marking five decades of dedication to animal welfare, education, and community involvement—all while remaining true to our Canadian roots.

Today, Petland Canada’s headquarters remain in Winnipeg, with operations based in Calgary, Alberta, supporting our continued growth nationwide. Being family owned and fully Canadian means our decisions are guided by long-term values—not short-term trends—ensuring pets, people, and communities always come first.

Since 1975, Petland has been a leader in animal care through ongoing staff training programs, advanced in-store animal care systems, and community service initiatives. We are committed to helping homeless pets find loving homes and supporting responsible pet ownership while working to curb pet overpopulation across the communities we serve.
